Partners developing collaborative property management plan
Eastern Klickitat Conservation District (EKCD), Central Klickitat Conservation District (CKCD), Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW), and other partners have developed a draft Simcoe Mountains Management Plan. The objective of the plan is for the “collaborative management, habitat stewardship, and conservation for multiple uses – cultural, recreation, working lands, fish and wildlife.”
What is the Simcoe Mountains Unit?
The 10,314-acre Simcoe Mountains Unit is located in the Simcoe Mountains on the southeastern extent of the Cascade Range in Washington. The unit offers working lands while providing long-term habitat protection and public access to a part of eastern Klickitat County, which has little public land ownership or access.
