Western Larch

Larix occidentalis
Reaches maximum height at 20 years, but can live for 850 years. Low drought tolerance. Like all larches, it loses its needles in the autumn. Provides exceptionally high-quality construction materials, used for poles and wherever strong supports are needed. Also called Tamarak, it makes good firewood.
