Philadelphus lewisii
Full sun to part shade. Very drought tolerant. Prefers open woods and stream sides, but often grows on rocky hillsides and in cracks in basalt fields. Fragrant white flowers in early summer. Useful for streambank stabilization, riparian restoration, and erosion control on dry slopes.
